Hundred Day Head Start Diet, fitness, exercise, and weight loss

WiiFit just around the corner

wii

I’ve written about how I really like the Wii for a substitute exercise from time to time. Yesterday, Diet-Blog posted about the upcoming WiiFit, which promises to extend the exercise and fitness options to Wii owners.

The base games provided with the Wii is the WiiSports package, which includes tennis, boxing, baseball, golf, and bowling. Most are just fun, but boxing will kick your butt, assuming you do it right – actually ‘throw’ punches, bounce, and duck. It’s something I’ll do on a rainy day, or if I get home late and don’t want to go for a walk in the dark. Plus, it’s just different, which helps body and mind.

I wouldn’t want a video game to replace the exercise options for myself or my kids, but having a tool like this to substitute and shake things up from time to time is a big help. Having more options in WiiFit will help even more. Can’t wait for May to get here!

I completely agree. While I don't want my kids to be relying strictly on video games for their exercise, I am realistic in that they are going to play video games at some point. Having an option such as the Wii makes complete sense. I am also looking forward to the Wii fitness related games.
  • My friend (Rick ) has a Wii and he said it works great for exercise untill he found out he could do most of them sitting in a chair.he now works out with me 3 days a week and does cardio the other days he has lost 15 # in 5 weeks.
  • Wii is good also for the concentration
  • its better than most video games since it involves physical motion.

I have lost 6 inches in 3 months by continous excercise and on diet plan.

Proper diet and walk is the best exercise that you can do
  • I agree that if they are going to play games anyways, this is a great option to throw into the mix.
  • I like the Wii games, especially the tennis and boxing fab cardio excercise, I'm exhausted after 15 minutes.

Great game, and although I realize cheating on a fitness game is a little counterproductive, I found some great new wii cheats at gamecheats.com
  • I had no idea the Wii boxing required actual boxing movements that's kind of interesting, I've been thinking about getting one for a while now. thanks for posting this, you made up my mind for me.
  • The main downside of the boxing game that i've found is that my 9 year old nephew can knock me down.... and regularly did over the New Year break... :(

Wii is an interesting way of exercising along with having a lot of fun. The aspect of being physically active while playing the games you love makes wii more tempting.
  • the wifit is brilliant, you can do all sorts of things.

  • We got a Wii for xmas and just bought a Wii Fit last week (got it off ebay). Came with a couple of exercise games which are really good - kinda makes getting some exercise quite fun - the kids love it too, so hopefully we'll get some much needed exercise round here, and have some family fun at the same time.
  • Hello. This post is likeable, and your blog is very interesting, congratulations :-).THANX FOR MAKING SUCH A COOL BLOG,I REALLY LIKE YOUR WRITING STYLE , KEEP IT UP :-)
  • You can run around till you are crazy, but I would suggest calling Target, Walmart or Best Buy. E-bay is also an option, but I personally think that is risky. My son happened upon some at Best Buy one day. It was $96 (with tax). I love it. It is sooooo much fun. Happy Hunting.
  • Well we have wii fit and its fantastic, keeps the whole family fit.
