My husband has been on this 5 bite diet, and so far he's lost 25 pounds. Look up an eating disorder before you base your comments about this subject on them. Anorexics do NOT eat, and when they do happen to eat they puke it back up. Bulimics gorge themselves and then puke up what they ate into bowls and they keep those purging bowls as awards to themselves. Do your research on the eating disorder you’re talking about and then make a post. This “diet” is not an eating disorder its portion control. My husband takes a multi-vitamin every day and he eats based on protein content. He’s getting the nutrients he needs and he’s learning that he doesn’t have to eat everything on his plate in order to be “full”. It is like a crash diet, but in some ways it’s not like a crash diet. He’s has to lose 54 more pounds before he can join the military branch of his choice, so far it’s working for him. And the comments about losing energy how do you figure? It says to try and base what you eat on protein and take a multi-vitamin every day, as long as you take your vitamins you shouldn’t have a problem with this diet. You don’t have to eat everything in sight in order to get the nutrients you need you can simply take a vitamin for that. We’ll boil chicken and mix rice into the mix, or he eats tuna with a lot of mustard. As long as you follow the rules it’s perfectly safe.

hmmm...well, i've been doing the 5 bite diet for 3 days and it may sound funny to you but i am not starving. as soon as i wake up though, i take 4 bites of toast usually with almond butter and a bite of banana and that seems to be enough to stop the rumbling tummy noises, then i can have some coffee. at lunch, 5 big bites of a super healthy salad with romaine, cashews, onions, grapes, and red peppers is quite satisfying. last night i made a venison pot pie and had 5 big bites of that. i vary it a bit because i like coffe in the morning and if on an empty stomach, it gives me cramps...i try to keep it at around 20 bites. and surprisingly, i have more energy to dance and run and don't feel tired anymore like i did when my tummy was too full. i think if you can discipline yourself to make healthy food choices, anyone will be successful with this diet.

"Angie said that at first she thought she would starve to death and later felt fine...that is how anorexia feels too!!! you start out really hungry and after a few weeks the thought or sight of food makes you feel sick."

No, it's your body saying it doesn't need any more food, it has enough to live on. Now that it has no food in the tummy to work on it will now work on the fat on your body to live on.

Anorexia doesn't feel like that. Anorexia's in the mind, it's an illness.

It's like rape having nothing to do with sex. Anorexia has nothing to do with food, it has everything to do with poor body image and seeing something that isn't there (thinking you're obese when you actually only weight 80 pounds)

It's a good thing that your stomach isn't begging you for food, it's good that you feel fine.

First, I did make a very aggressive argument against the diet, so we're in agreement. Second, your rant would have had more impact for others had you not placed an obvious spam link in the comment. Finally, I think I'll be the one to decide what I post about and how I characterize my thoughts.
