I need to go back to doing what works
When I started this Hundred Day Head Start on September 23, I wanted to break some rules and see if it made a difference. I threw out the spreadsheets I used to plan my daily exercise and log my daily fat, carbs and protein. I didn’t want to be tied to anyone’s methodology, including my own.
That isn’t working.
I’m having too many bad days. I’m inconsistent, and scrambling to lose a pound a here and a pound there. I have to face it, I NEED structure.
So, I’m going to pull those things from the virtual wastebasket, dust ‘em off, and rebuild them. I’ll write more about them tomorrow, maybe see if I can make them available for download here as well.
It’s such a learning experience, isn’t it? We’ve all got to figure out what works for us, and it’s remarkable to me how much variety there is.
Aside from logging my weight, I can’t handle the amount of structure you describe. I get too obsessive, which is just differently unhealthy! I’m glad you are sorting out what works for you, though.
Structure is the only thing that works for me. But I do try to focus on health and feeling well – rather then just numbers on the scale.
Hey Tim – where are ya?!
Hope everything is okay and you are still on plan – I have been surprised not to see anything here in almost a week.
well dats actually good to follow something which regulates our activities…a regulated life based on principles is wat we all actually need or else we would be just scampering away over anything we think of at the moment and eventually forget what we were supposed to be doing or were planning to do…it gives us something to base our activities for the day on and eventually it will become routine for us and easy…no more struggling afterwards when we’re already used to it..and we’d be surprised how much we’ll be able to accomplish.
I think that is good. Trying to do something new will surely make a difference.
